Tips on how to fight stress.

Stress can affect our daily routines and even our productivity at work.

Here are some tips to help reduce stress.

  • Water helps derive energy from food. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day.
  • Avoid drinking coffee when your stressed or tired. If you can't avoid coffee because that's part of your daily cravings, try decaffainated coffee or a cup of green or chamomile tea.

Chamomile tea helps relieve back pain, relaxes the nerves, improves liver function, relieves muscle spasm and menstrual cramps in women.

  • Choose healthy meals rather than satisfying your hunger with junk food! Junk foods is one of the major causes of obesity. 

choose: high-fiber cereals, vegetables, whole-grain breads and brown rice for breakfast, fresh fruits for dessert.

Try also this mood boosting food:

Banana- good source of potassium and natural sugars combined with fiber. This yummy fruit provides substantial boost of energy too!

Yogourt- yogourt is a good source of calcium. Vitamin B12, and protein. If you're on a diet, you can choose the low-fat variety.

  • Avoid drinking too much alcohol when you're tired or stressed out. Negative short term effects of drinking too much alcohol are blurred vision, loss of balance, loss of judgment, loss of coordination, and slurring of speech. Remember, drinking too much alcohol when your depressed and stressed out will not solve any problem!
  • When at work, take small breaks. Take time to walk around and do some stretching. Stretching can improve flexibility. It also increases blood flow to the muscle.
  • Have some fun! Take things easy. Spend time also with your friends, laugh with them, dine-out with them.
  • Listen to your favorite music. Music affects the body and mind in many powerful ways. Try listening to relaxing pieces. Music can also bring positive state of mind.

  •  Exercise more. Go to the gym with a friend or simply do some simple exercise routines at home.
  • Spend time with your family. Nothing beats the happiness that a family bonding can bring!
  • Go shopping or watch a funny movie. Try rewarding yourself!
  • Control your negative thoughts.Smile...SMILE A LOT!
  • Have a relaxing massage at your favorite spa.
  • Go on a vacation, leave all your worries behind.
  • Before going to bed, take a relaxing shower.
  • Lavander, mint or bergamont  mist can also help you relax. Spray a little on your bed and pillow before going to sleep.
  • Get enough sleep, this will help you feel energized and refreshed the following morning.
